You could even buy a cheap caravan and tour around for a bit that way you see many places and have an adventure at the same time ,then when you buy somewhere sell the caravan enjoy your search

That's a really good idea but, we have decided on Dona Pepa/Quesada and want to get to know the area and locals. I can't wait now. Thank you for your reply. Vickie and John.

Will do. Thanks a lot. How many times a month do you do deliveries from England. We are in Liverpool.

We are thinking Dona Pepa. Is this a good choice? We want a base from which we can hunt around and find the perfect place for us. Thank you for your time Vickie and John.

Dona Pepa is quite a big area. It has the advantage of being mainly flat but it can be a bit of a hike into the town centre depending on whereabouts it is. At the lower bit, you have the advantage of a commercial centre with a Consum and Aldi supermarket with loads of shops and bars in the area. It is the furthest from the town centre, though.
At the top half, you are closer to town (15 minutes walk or so depending on how fast you walk) plus a smaller supermarket (Gama) and a Lidl plus Mas y Mas a little further up. Also bars and restaurants and other outlets.
Just one hill from the La Laguna hotel up to Cooper's pub but the rest pretty flat.
One of the best things about Quesada is that it doesn't turn into a ghost town in the winter. Some restaurants and bars close but most remain open and it is quite lively all year round although it can be quiet in the evenings during the winter months (most people like to sit outside and it gets a bit chilly for that).
Also a good location for hunting around as it is not far to Torrevieja, Guardamar and even Elche. Loads of smaller towns around and a great motorway link for further afield.

Thank you for this. It's very informative. As soon as I get a firm date for my house sale going through I will begin the search for a rental. Thank you Marcliff. Best regards Vickie and John.
