Hi Rick. There are 5 or 6 bars at the golf course most of which do bar type meals as well as 4 dedicated restaurants.

Please note Quesada is on Costa Blanca NOT Costa del Sol, nobody seems to have pointed that out, so do hope you have the right area! We are a lit older than you but been here 17 years and it is a great residential area with five supermarkets on your doorstep as well as the other facilities you mention. Lots of luck

Visa and tax matters are really that complicated or difficult to get your head around and there is more than enough knowledge and experience here to advise on them so save yourself the lawyer fees and ask away.

I'll stick my neck out and say that some of the advice we've heard of being given by some lawyers has been at best misleading if not downright wrong!

Thanks Darro to be honest the information I have had off Sun Lawyers up to now has been very good and I am going to make them my power of attorney when buying my house, I did speak to another company called "my lawyer in Spain" while I was at a place in the sun exhibition in Manchester and the lady I spoke to didn't have a clue on a lot of questions I asked, she even only said I could only get a golden visa to go to Spain!

All the best.

I am in the same area and agree it gives some nice options. We can enjoy proper Spain by walking into Rojales, or just head down the more expat bars around the golf course if we fancy an easy walk and drink or taking in a match etc.

Quesada high street is more youthful and is a bit of a hike for us being near El Recorral so about 45 min walk or we sometimes drive down, leave the car and taxi back.

I am approaching mid-40s also and its refreshing to feel part of the younger crowd at this age! Love the area and chance to play golf, or go for a run/mountain bike in the park, or a game of padel etc. We are not permanent and more 50/50 but have no regrets about choosing the area we did. For us it was a mixture of things but also accessibility to the airport, which is a breeze and 25 min drive. We also wanted to ensure year round "life" and avoided the coast for that reason. It's quieter in the winter months but far from dead as many are year round residents. An influx of visitors in the warmer months definitely brings more vibrancy but go out in mid winter and you will still find folks out and about and places open.

This site is excellent in explaining which type of visa you will need to apply for, before obtaining residence in Spain

We don't live in quesada but have a holiday home there, we are pueblo brava area, we love it as you are quite central for places like la mate, guardema and torrivieja, the only thing we find frustrating is there is no bus service, doesn't bother us but would def be a bonus, also we find the restaurant prices very reasonable compared with beach resorts, nan kin restaurant is a must
Good luck with whatever your final choice is x
