as it's a mixed group - do you HONESTLY think that the women would let them get away with those topics??? I think that it's great that men NEVER talk about aches and pains ........... however, does "man-flu" come into a different catagory???

In all seriousness (it doesn't often happen as far as I am concerned!!) but you are to be congratulated, Glyn. There can't be many people who can say the same thing as you regarding the sickness record.

I never had a sicky either at school or work. 51 years in total, I haven't been fit since I jacked it in though.

My hubby, before he retired, prided himself on never having a day off sick in 40 years of working. I called it stupidity. He never even told his work when he had an emergency heart problem, verging on a heart attack, and saw a doctor one evening and against orders (mostly from me!!) went into work the next morning and booked holiday leave to go to the hospital for tests and then went back & booked more leave to have an operation. I couldn't understand it at all. It must be a man thing.
He even used to go into the office with a bad cold. What is it with men, a woman will have the decency to have a day or two off instead of spreading their germs! He had Bells Palsy once and, without knowing what it was at the time, delayed going to the doctor until the evening & went into the office looking like Quasi modo - It could easily have been a stroke as the facial characteristics are similar... I despaired! :x

Hi all, just found this forum by accident really when I Googled the Bells Hungarian restaurant. I've monitored most of the other forums around the area for a number of years so a new face on the block is always welcome. Me n her have had a villa by the golf course for nine years now and love the place. We live in West London, have a Fulham season ticket, and come across to Quesada as many times as work will permit, usually eight or nine times a year. Just waiting for early retirement to make more use of it. Be over in July and August. Hope the wind drops for our next stay. Del
