Hi Chris and Alli,
:text-welcomewave:
Welcome to TalkQuesada.

Hopefully someone can give you more information about Formentera on here. Seems you are in one of the best places for auctions. Pleased to hear you got some good stuff.

We have lots of helpful advice on the forum about different areas around Quesada, including some on Formentera but it's good to have you on here to tell us more about your area.

You may have seen our 'moving in advice' on the home page but if not here's a link:
quesada-general-discussion-f9/helpful-tips-information-and-advice-for-moving-to-quesada-t2913.html

On the home page too, under 'useful links' is a section on all the markets, bars, restaurants and some maps of some of the areas around us.

Hope this helps.

Jan

Hi Chris and Alli, I used to stay in Formentera a lot before moving to Quesada. There are a few bars beside Supervalu, with Montgomerys being the best as regards food. What used to be the Liffey has now become "The Pub" and is being renovated. What we normally did as regards food was to walk through the lemon groves to either Benimar or Benijofar, lots of good restaurants such as the yellow rose of Texas, El Gusto and the Taj Mahal to name just a few. The best markets around are probably Lemontree and Zocco, on a Sunday but there is an auction in the auction house on the main road between Formentera and Rojales every Saturday. Noel

I disagree with Noel regarding Montgomerys. Its run by a very obnoxious Englishman with no interpersonal skills, but enough of that as on the positive side, there are plenty of Spanish bars and restaurants in the area. One of our favourites is El Cortijo. Its at the end of the main road towards Almoradi. Lovely family owned bar with a lovely courtyard garden. Trasgus is also great. August sees the fiesta, with paella cooking competitions, foam party and loads more. Check out the town hall link on Facebook.

You've missed one of the good events - the day of the bicycle. Its held in May and about 500 or so people take part.

The village square is a great meeting place. I could go on, but if you want to know more send me a pm. Do you live here permanently, or are you an occasional visitor?

Hi there , we also just brought a report in Dona pepa2 , wasn't that hard with all the paperwork ect , was it ? We were told water and electric would take weeks to get put on ...21 hrs after we signed we had water , 2 days after that electric , so no problem , we had to come back to the UK the next day , but I am coming back on Tuesday 15 the July to spend another week making sure all OK , ect . In the spate of 2 days I fitted 21 lights , repaired 6 shutters , fitted 3 showers , changed all locks and loads more I carnt even remember, so this week I hopefully might even get to see the sea . Although the Mrs has done me a big list of things that must be done b 4 she comes out with her friends in 5 weeks ...welcome to the neighborhood !!!! Glynn
