hola everyone
Hubby and myself been looking at properties to move to ciudad quesada. We live in UK at the moment both in our late 50's we are not able rent long term first as I still work has anyone moved without renting first. Which part is better as I don't intend to drive so need to be in walking distance of bars, shops places to eat and if possible bowls club.
Thanks for any info

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

Have you had holidays in Quesada? If not it could be a good thing to do, especially as you are not able to rent first. You could possibly try a holiday rental (or two or three) in areas you like the sound of. That way you can experience what the different areas have to offer before making a decision.

We have had similar questions before on here and one of them is on this link which may give you some ideas: Thinking of moving to Quesada

To help you find out where different areas in Quesada are and what's there, we have some maps on this link: Maps of Quesada and Rojales 2014

Hopefully you will get some more help and advice on here as well.

Good luck with your search.

Jan

Hi have you been to Quesada? as to which part is better that is a matter of opinion what floats one persons boat may not float yours!! I think you should spend at least a week walking round the place to explore. as far as moving without renting we did that and are perfectly happy with what we got and the location but did two weeks searching first, having said that we were obviously quite lucky as I have spoken to several people who have not been so lucky and it has put a dampener on what should be a fantastic experience so my advice would be come and stay for two weeks and walk, walk, walk, and plenty of research. good luck and welcome to the forum. :)

Hi, having been involved in Freehold Spanish property sales since the late 1980s but now almost entirely retired, I would suggest Quesada is a very good choice for the active or newly retired. I spent years telling prospective buyers that this safe, legal area, had something to offer absolutely every body, from about 50,000€ right up to about 1,000000€ I guess in a perfect World renting first is sensible, but my own view is that prices have certainly stopped going down, and perhaps more importantly well located, desirable property is selling quickly (to cash buyers) In your case as pre rental is out of the question, do not be afraid of putting your trust in one of the established Quesada agents. For your own sake insist on viewing selected properties only, that fit exactly your requirements, ie price, type, location. Stick to your guns, the right help is out there. very best of luck in your search.

Hi there's no rush but you really have to do your research and that takes time it took us nearly 3years we came over at least a dozen times. The more people you get to know the better chance you have to find your perfect house. You have already made the hardest choice (location),and it's a good one. We even appeared on a place in the sun as a last resort and found our house by staying on for a couple of weeks to search. the agent we would recommend is Petra Honig in the main road at quesada. Best of luck and take your time

Hi Dot :text-thankyouyellow:

We are thinking about both ideas I still have a 79 year old Mum and a sister with learning disabilities who lives with Mum. So emotions a little all over the place. But keep searching CQ and more and more drawn. Would you know if the roads called sierra due gata and calls rias altas are in the hilly pars.

Take care

We came out for 2 days, stayed in Torrevieja, had arranged to view a few properties in different areas with just the last one in Ciudad Quesada. With only 6 properties on our list, it was more to have a look than actually buy so were only spending one day viewing, the other relaxing. Nothing floated our boat until we came through the arches.... it immediately felt 'right' and we loved the place we viewed so much we put in our offer and completed all the necessary paperwork before going back to the UK the next day. We've had our holiday home for 2 years now and not once have we regretted our rather impulsive decision. Whether you decide to rent first, holiday first or do something similar to what we did.... whatever feels right for you, enjoy and happy hunting :-)
