Second hand car

Used cars in Spain are ridiculously expensive! If you’re looking for something ‘quite new’, it’s unlikely you’ll save very much so you’d most likely be better off actually buying brand new.

It appears to be the case that most Spaniards buy new cars then just run them forever. Also, there is no significant fleet car market in Spain, hence the very poor supply of decent used cars.
I’ve found most used car dealers here are selling 6-10 year old cars with starship mileage and little or no service history.

I reckon prices are at least 50% above UK prices for the same cars!!

Hi,
You could try Autos Direct( on the road to San Miguel), I bought my 3 year old car from them with average mileage and service history. The aftersales is good too. I wanted to originally buy a new car but didn't due to purchasing cost, also buying a young second hand car hopefully most niggles would have been sorted. There are good and bad points for both new and second hand it's just what suits you best that's the decider. Good luck and happy motoring

Try this website to give you an idea of 2nd hand car prices. You can use the filters to exclude private sales, specify mileage, year etc....

Before I moved over here, I googled LHD dealers in the UK, found on in Derby which was close to me, brought a Spanish registered Mokka, insured it over the phone from the dealer with a Spanish company, drove it in the UK for 2 months before driving to our home in Spain, cheap option for you.
