One should be able to post on the Forum their point of view without being bullied and we should respect that we all have different experiences and opinions otherwise whats the point. I find this forum invaluable for information from people with different ideas and long may this continue, hang on in there dr doolittle .

Got to agree with The Doc.There have been many posts on this before.
I would not recommend anyone coming to Spain if they have to rent or pay a mortgage, and find enough work to pay all the additional bills.Fine if you are retired and have a pension(no mortgage or rent) or are self sufficient and under retirement age.
Too many people see Spain with rose coloured specs, yes there are jobs, but many are not full time and many are not well paid.

I'm not a regular poster but I thought I would post my support for Dr Doolittle. I think his comment has been taken out of context. I think everyone who uses this forum realises that jobs in Spain are few and far between, which is all, I think, he is trying to say. If he appeared blunt in his comment I think it is out of increduity of the original question I.e "is there a job centre in Quesada?"

I genuinely hope Dawn is successful in her search for work but to move to another country, and then hope to call in at a local job centre and find work is unrealistic.

Sorry I appreciated what you were saying but it"s just that I had a complaint .
It was just the bluntness of the comment I think and not the comment itself. We all know that jobs are hard to come by and you were only saying it as it is.

Sorry.

If 50% of under 25yr olds are unemployed (not counting those in further education) then 50% must be in work so that tells me there are jobs in Spain,

If Dawn is over 25 then it is irreverent. Have you the stats on any other age groups?

Thanks

Hmmm......I believe there`s been a spat on here about the content of a post. Let`s see, that`s one whole complaint, from one whole person, and summarily the post was removed. Even as a dictator myself, I find that slightly, no, more than slightly, disturbing.:?:

Totally agree , one complaint, one would assume most of us are grown up and intelligent enough to make up our own minds about a post without it been removed !!! :text-lol:

I think this topic has answered the question asked and run its course.

It isn't easy monitoring a forum and we just like to keep it friendly, sorry if one or two disagree.

Pleasing everyone isn"t always possible but running a helpful friendly forum is always our aim.

Thank you to those who answered the original question.

I don't usually stick my oar into this type of discussion as it only adds grist to the mill. But I feel I need to in support of Jan's stance. I think she does a great job of moderating this board.

Recently there has been a small spate of unfriendly and unkind posts which when read make you wince. I bite my tongue and refrain from commenting on them, as many of us do, knowing that Jan will deal with them gently in a non confrontational way.
I am sure no one is saying that unpalatable facts cannot be voiced. It is the way they are voiced that is the issue. The tone of one or two post is frankly mocking and unfriendly and quite off putting. If one cannot give a bit of constructive and helpful advice in a friendly manner then better to not post at all in my view. I am sorrry if I offended anyone with my post, but sometimes you just have to speak up.
