Not that i'm aware of.

Best to start with the local papers and online / local forums.

Hi Dawn
As Quesada is more a residential area of retired people and 2nd home owners - you will not find a job centre on the high street. You need to go to a larger town eg: - Torrevieja. My husband went there to get his social security number - which you will need, in order to work in Spain. The social security office is perhaps a starting point.

Hi,

I have removed the negative comment, although I sometimes wonder occasionally but not all the time if some comments are meant to be partly in jest but sound serious - giving the benefit of the doubt ...if so an LOL may be be better.

Keep it friendly please !

ok Jan I am out of here, if people keep posting and giving false info then there is no need for truth, everyone knows the unemployment figures in Spain, yet people on here give the impression there is work, look at the stats, I did enjoy my time on here, but when people give false info its time for me to go, thanks to all who supported me in my rescue with cats, etc. bye.
thanks the doc.

Feel sorry for Dr doolittle , who was trying to make people think before assuming they will get a job , I think that is sensible. Living and working in France for 26 years and my children having been educated under the French system and now work and live there,it never ceases to amaze me the number of people who assume they can come to France and get a job ,, dont speak French and have not got a clue about the French culture or way of life or whats available, having done no research beforehand ,having just spent holidays in France .

My children all speak fluent Spanish and know only too well the situation in Spain mixing with Spanish families, and unemployment is very high as dr doolittle says , thats fact . If one has independant means or a skill which is needed then maybe they can be self employed, but that may not bring in a regular income.
I always appreciate when people tell me the negative side, as it makes one think before taking a step , if one reads the experience of ex pats who have come back and on various forums and I know a few who have gone back to the UK this year ,then it is important to have all the facts before one decides , and I dont think that that is being negative , I think thats intelligent . I am sure that many people will miss his posts if he were to leave for being honest and making people think with the best of intentions .
