I personally would not encourage anyone to move to Spain if they have or need a mortgage or pay rent and have children who need a good education and need a job !
Earn your money in the UK and come over when you can be debt free and your children have completed their education.

I'm afraid sueandneil32 are right. Most UK people who work here are in the service industry, like hairdressing or in bars/restaurants. For any other type of work you'd have to speak fluent Spanish and have an offer of work before coming over.
Unemployment is currently 24% in Spain which is well over double the average for the EU as a whole. Most of the jobs going are minimum wage (752 euro a month or about £575).
I'm not trying to be too downbeat about this as there are lots of UK citizens working here. But please, please, come over to find a job first before moving over permanently with your family. Apart from child allowance and and initial period of job seekers allowance (paid from UK) there are no benefits you can claim here if things don't work out.
