Lo Crispin - commercial area - history

When we viewed a couple of properties in Lo Crispin we were told by an estate agent that the commercial area hadn't been properly approved by the town hall, which is why it was never fully completed/occupied. Not sure if this was true, or the agent just spinning us a yarn.

This is a good thread! Suggesting there are signs of economic recovery. Where I am on Entre Naranjos work has been ongoing over the past year when I arrived building more new villas in the €100 k + range sold off plan and 2 new restaurants have opened though there are still some shop units empty

Allegedly the golf course is currently being upgraded to championship standard and apparently Paramount have begun work on a new theme park to be built within a 30 min drive, all of which say those who have been here longer than me, will lead to growth in the urb and an increase in house prices etc

We live on Lo Crispin and have been told by our president that planning permission has been granted to convert the unused commercial area into 18 apartments, some commercial units and a swimming pool to the rear.

Wouldn't this suggest that things ARE beginning to "look up", so could those currently dead "commercial areas" in the likes of Lo Crispin soon become "active"?

But bars in El Raso have had complaints from neighbours about noise and, without the attraction of music, custom may well dwindle and closures follow.

The problem with the commercial area in El Raso is that it was originally going to be at the "bottom" end near the lake but of course building was stopped down there. So they decided that the commercial centre would be in the area near the entracce, an area originally intended to be open parkland.

People coming to the estate thought they were buying a nice, quiet property near the entrace then when they came back the found bars - Jennings in particular - pumping out loud music. So, naturally they complained and denuncias followed. Things seem to be easing off now - The Med has entertainment on Friday nights in its new premises and so far (touch wood) no complaints.

And of course bilding has now re-commenced at the bottom end so things are definitely picking up.

Anyway, sorry for butting in - back to Lo Crispin...

Fingers crossed Stephanie. Was really impressed during out walk round. Noticed Lo Crispin was on "A Place In The Sun" recently too, things are looking up :)
