Schools in Algorfa.
by Big G » Fri Feb 08, 2019 9:17 pm
Hi all.
We're planning on moving to Lo Crispin in late July / August, and we understand our 9 year old will go to school in Algorfa. Does anybody have any info on the schools or contact details / website. We know we have to have him enrolled by May, and as we're coming over in February for a few days we thought we might be able to make some inroads so that we have everything arranged for when we arrive.
TIA.

Maybe you can tell us why you are thinking of Lo Crispin? Have you visited and seen the amenities? Some people love quiet areas slightly off the beaten track and Lo Crispin is a bit like that. You would need a car for most things although there is a nice Tavern there. Others will tell you more.

I have been to Spain many times and had a house in the south of France for 5 years on a inland marina in Aigues-Mortes and was nice but very quiet and not many English speaking and to much tax’s so i sold it 2 years ago
I agree Lo Crispin is off the beaten track but still very close to beach and shops and close to other villages and bigger urbanisations
I have a car and I hear that Lo Crispin can be quirt in the winter but i understand that of 1000 houses there some people live there all year round and i could become part of the community there ?
Thanks for your info

We live on Lo Crispin as permanent residents, along with many others. Yes, there a few holiday homes and it gets busy in the summer, quiet in winter but we love it. The LoCrispin Tavern is the hub of the community and venue for different clubs. They have weekly entertainment, quiz night, walking football, outings, etc.most residents speak English but there are Dutch, Belgian, German and Spanish. It’s is only a few minutes drive into Quesada and about a 20 min walk from the town centre. The urbanisation is clean and friendly.

We have had a property there for about 7 years now. Although we do not live there permanently (not quite at retirement age just yet) we are there at least 8-10 times a year. Totally love the place as do our kids and grandkids. I agree with all the last poster said. There are a few really busy weeks at the height of summer but you are going to get that anywhere. Some of the residents seem not to care for that period but you need a bit of buzz now and then especially for the children who like to make holiday friends. The Tavern is great and David and his staff work very hard. Yes you do need a car especially for your shopping etc. as there are no stores there and Imagine there never will be anytime soon. Its only a few minutes drive to Quesada. A nice 20-25 minute stroll if you're feeling like some exercise. All in all its perfect for a quieter lifestyle.
