Community Rules..?

We have a no swimming rule during siesta as we live amongst a lot of Spanish who work and want to relax during 2-4. People do still use the pool but as soon as they start screeching they are told and the rules pointed out and so far they take notice. It's a little bit of give and take.

This is the reason we opted to buy a detached villa.
1st place we rented was great, yes there were rules, but everyone including the president were great, very understanding with grandchildren. Who I must add were well behaved, yes there was the usual children's noise when they were in the pool. And the president and residents told us to have a drink in plastic glasses. Just be sensible.
2nd place, nightmare, arrived with grandchildren and before we could even get in the pool or set up sunbeds, the president came over and told us "Any noise, drink, food, we would be asked to leave,
When I asked why he was being so rude and obtuse. He replied " you are only renting for 4 months while you look for somewhere to buy, so why would you care about rules"
Needless to say, we left, and went to Jr's and let the kids have fun there.
Some people.

,Yes good advice, to those that can afford to, not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to buy detached and have there own pool, but still wish to enjoy Spanish lifestyle,Johnny wrote:Buy a property with your own pool, no rules no problems just enjoy no mater night or day

..and it's not just the cost of buying a villa with a pool but also the high running costs of owning a pool. Also it's not really a sensible option for Non-Residents(unless they are wealthy!) as the pool will need constant costly upkeep even when the property is not being used.
A well run community with a community swimming pool is ideal for those who just want to relax and come and go without worrying about pool leaks and cleaning.
Also some full time residents prefer not to have the worry or expense of their own pool that will only be used for 5 or 6 months of the year but know that a community pool is there if they or their family need it.

Dont let the rules put you off. It is amazing having a property in Spain and the rules are just common sense - put there to ensure everyone is safe and to maintain our lovely facilities.

Initially, I thought that private pools were the way to go, but aside from sharing the cost, communal pools also provide a good opportunity to get to know your neighbours.
All very well, being shut away in your own villa, with high walls and private pool, but who will your kids make friends and play with?
Finally, unless your super wealthy, your swimming pool is likely to be nothing more than a plunge pool. .005 minutes per length. Communal pools are normally much larger.

They seem reasonable enough and common sense. Thoughtful and considerate people don't need to be aware of the rules.
