Hmm.. the GC have seen other muggers who are Romanian so this girl must be too...

..sounds fair to me..

The police saying that the muggers were Romanian, is not the same as saying all Romanians are criminals. It will be based on their experience of the perpetrators of crimes of this nature, who have been arrested previously, and will almost certainly be a fact. Way back in the mid-80's, before Romania even joined the EU and had the freedom of movement, if an old lady had her purse stolen, whilst bending over to look at goods for sale, at a certain stall, at a market in a certain Northern town, the offender was almost certainly a Roma gypsy female. That's based on the fact that it's a fairly distinctive crime and the only people that had previously been arrested for committing that crime, on that market, were all Roma gypsies. I'm sure the Guardia will have similar stories to tell about women who rip watches off people in broad daylight.

Hope you're OK Baldy Dave.

Attitudes need to change, common sense and courtesy needs to prevail.... this forum has gone to pot....it’s all very amusing if it wasn’t so serious.

Thank you baldydave for your sharing your experience. Forewarned is forearmed so they say. I hope you recover soon from what must have been a very nasty issue to deal with.

What I am a bit unhappy about is saying that the robber is of a certain nationality when they plainly do not know... the person could be a Gypsy, Romanian, Bulgarian etc... but to "tar" all robbers as Romanians is plain wrong.... so is suggesting all Muslims are rapists and bombers.... just because some are...

..

If you don't like saying mugged what do you call it then ????

How does it suggests that the victim was a mug ????

Have you got a nationality preference for this type of crime ????

Not at all, but I don´t say "Oh look, someone has been mugged, I bet a Romanian did it...."

I would rather wait and see...

Of course there are many who would say... "Oh look, there is a drunk, I bet he is a Scotsman" but not me,.. I don´t jump the gun and certainly don´t just ... assume...

..Still, if you like to jump to conclusions that is your right.... but not mine..

.... I feel sorry for the guy who got robbed, of course I do.

The fact that baldydave got the registration number of the car means that he would also have seen the RO on the left hand side of the plate.
