73 years old and waiting for 1st vaccine

73 years old and waiting for 1st vaccine

Postby Clara » Sun May 16, 2021 5:52 pm

I am worried that my 73 year old husband is not being included in the vaccine rollout. I am 59 and had my first AZ 2 weeks ago. Neighbours both older and younger than my husband have had theirs. We have queried it at the Centro de Salud and they say he'll get a text in the next week or two but they've been saying that since February! Is there any known reason why someone in this age bracket has not been invited? Are there any other 73 year olds in Formentera still waiting? We feel he's being left at risk as holiday makers begin to arrive possibly bringing the virus with them.

Thanks.

PS. We are both fully registered residents with SIP cards.

UPDATE:
We went to the OCIO Centre behind Carrefour in Torrevieja and ignored the cita previa only sign. I explained the problem, the guard agreed and we were directed to a queue and the jab was in my husband's arm minutes later. I would advise any other 70+ year old to do the same as they admit that the SMS system has faults and agree that all 70+ should have received their jabs by now. Good luck everybody!

We checked at the Centro de Salud, Formentera in February and they changed the phone number (which was wrong despite being previously informed) and it has been confirmed as correct on YoSalud. So it's not the phone number! They know he wants the jab; they know his age; they know his phone number; he is a registered patient with them and receives regular medication prescribed by them. Is he too old for Astra Seneca and too young for Pfizer or something?!?!

Is it your landline number they have or a mobile number? If it's landlines you could have missed the call?

We're in the same boat, I'm 73 and my wife is 70. I contacted our doctor who hopefully has/is sorting out the problem.
