What food places are open at airport on the departure side .
Also how is it going through customs at the moment.

You’ll have to state which airport you’re flying into, so that people can advise on their experience of passing through customs.
Lots of reports on the Benidorm Facebook sites ( so it must be true!!!) of a lot more people being stopped and checked because of the duty free limits. So if you’re thinking of smuggling in a few extra duty free cigarettes you’re probably more at risk of being stopped if Border control can tell if you’ve been on a flight coming in from Alicante.

Customs checks are at your destination so you’ll need to say where you’re flying to!

When we flew out of Alicante at end of august, the security queue was very small, much better than normal years. Almost all food outlets were open, my tip is if you want a bottle of water or food get it before you go through the UK gates as prices are higher there (€1 for water at sports bar, €3 past UK gates). Only extra checks that you have docs at either end were any different from pre Brexit/covid to be honest..
