Alternative places to stay

we will be driving to Cadiz from Quesada and would like an alternative place to break the journey. We have stayed in Granada several times and looking for somewhere different

It's a little bit further, but Córdoba is a nice alternative if you've not been. You can get a hotel by the river and walk to the famous Mezquita etc. Whilst in the Cádiz area try Jerez de la Frontera - Bodega Tío Pepe and the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art are both there. My personal favourites in the area.

In May we drove from Quesada to Vale do Lopo in Portugal. As I couldn’t get 2 nights in Cordova as the flower festival was on, we stayed south in a hotel in Molina. OK for an overnight stop, but nothing really there. Then to Córdoba and then Sevilla before arriving in Portugal. On the way back we stayed at Sevilla and Granada.
Sevilla is not far away enough from Cadiz I guess, so if you are looking for something other than Granada, I could only suggest a trip down to the coast such as Nerva or somewhere. It would be nice as part of a holiday, but if you want to keep in a straight (ish) line then I can only think of Córdoba.

I don’t want to rush, Nerja sounds a good suggestion, been a few years since we were there.
Thanks
