Avoid Ryanair

I keep hearing that it was more safe to contain you not spreading covid by wearing a mask than receiving it, especially as the checks and tests have changed. So it makes sense for those that may have covid but not aware they have it to be asked to wear masks for everybodys good. Seems you can leave Spain untested and go to the UK for instance but need to be tested after you arrive within two days. All seems a bit odd

Not sure you are right. Watch PMQs and see how many of the tory front bench are wearing masks-zilch and they are like sardines! Setting an example?

We flew in and out of Liverpool 3 weeks ago masks were compulsory had family over during summers 8 flights in total all said masks worn all the time so it’s obviously the staff at fault and Ryanair should be Meade aware of it have you complained ? What was the response ? And agree with other reply’s it is the fault of the uk government not making it mandatory. While home I went the Liverpool match myself and one man who sits in front of me plus odd ones here and there word masks yet at the Liverpool v Athletico Madrid all had masks on because in Spain it is the law that’s where uk has slipped up badly !!

Aren’t you better complaining to Ryan Air rather than the ‘People of Quesada’
Not a lot we can do about it!

Richtee the reason i put this on talk quesada was to inform every body of the lack of wearing masks on a ryanair flight. This is one of the reasons in all the years of being a member of this forum i rarely post anything as you get someone like you that makes a comment that has nothing to do with the post. I have sent a complaint to ryanair but as yet i have not heard back and dont expect too. Just to add i have now had an email from the NHS telling me i have been near someone who has tested positive with covid obviously on that flight as one of the non mask wearing passengers was coughing most of the flight. Its possible he is now in benidorm spreading his germs as when i told him he will have to wear a mask in spain he said let them try and make me wear one as i will tell them to f off like he told me.

Thank you for sharing the information on your original post. It is a warning to people still apprehensive about flying to maybe wait a little longer. Do people not have to wear masks in airport buildings in the U.K.? What happened on your flight was against the regulations and the airline crew have the power to call in the police either before or after the flight, if someone on the flight is not obeying the rules. Therefore the crew members should be reprimanded, so I would keep on pestering Ryanair with your complaint.
As an aside I personally know of crew members on a different airline, who were suspended for failing to follow airline regulations on a seatbelt issue.
It seems that more and more passengers on flights into the U.K. are being pinged as a result of someone testing positive after the Day 2 test so I would have thought as you have been contacted via the NHS that you had been in close contact with someone on a flight from Spain to U.K. Did you just have a short break in the U.K.? Most people in the U.K. have now turned off their frequently pinging app so they know if they’ve been contacted by track and trace it has to be because of the passenger locator form.
I’ve not heard of anyone else being pinged from a flight from U.K. to Spain, but surely you would have been contacted by the Spanish Health Authority as it is them holding the passenger details.
Just follow the advice and keep testing.

Re planes .. cabin air is completely changed about every 3 minutes. A percentage is filtered and a high percentage is fresh from outside.

If you are sat next to someone with covid you will catch it no matter if you are wearing a mask or not.
The microscopic size of the virus will pass straight through, around, under and over the mask.
Also with the recirculation of air around the cabin i am surprised you are flying at all.
Very irresponsible to be travelling about spreading the virus.
That’s not how it works.
The virus may be microscopic, but it needs to travel attached to saliva aerosol when you cough, sneeze, sing, shout or even breath.
The masks can catch the saliva aerosol, reducing spread.
