Avoid Ryanair
Avoid Ryanair
by Ravead » Thu Oct 21, 2021 2:21 pm
Flew back from london luton airport last night after a weeks visit to see my sick mother. On boarding the Ryanair flight i was sitting in the last row at the back of the aircraft. There was a male steward greeting people as they boarded, i counted at least 8 people with no face masks. I asked the steward why he had not said anything to them as the rules are you must wear a face mask for the whole duration of the flight, his reply was its difficult to tell people to wear a mask. Sitting opposite me was a couple who both told me to mind my own business as the airline crew were not bothered that they had no masks on. If you dont have to visit the uk for anything important dont go as the majority over there are walking around with no masks on even with reported new cases of around 40,000 a day. I did not feel safe there even though i wore my mask every time i went out, and as for Ryanair that was my last flight with them.

Don't agree Chris. The Government is supposed to provide clear leadership and properly implement its policies. Everything else comes next.

I have just flown with Wizz Air to Budapest then returned to Alicante.. very strict on masks and continue checking throughout the flight. No mask, no fly signs at check in and on boarding.

That said, I would say less than 1% wearing masks in Budapest. Not on shops or public transport either. So as much as people keep criticising the UK about masks, masks are not thr sole issue. Many other countries wear them less than the UK but still have falling numbers.

Agreed masks aren't the only useful preventative measure. The real measure of effective control is death rate and infection rate. But preventative measures all help.

Why are you all so hung up on mask's ?
If you are sat next to someone with covid you will catch it no matter if you are wearing a mask or not.
The microscopic size of the virus will pass straight through, around, under and over the mask.
Also with the recirculation of air around the cabin i am surprised you are flying at all.
Very irresponsible to be travelling about spreading the virus.

We flew in to Alicante on Tuesday with Ryanair, masks were very much compulsory on this flight from Bristol. Mainly Spanish crew so may be that had something to do with it.
We were quite concerned at the lack of mask wearing in the UK. Not surprising case numbers are higher there.

At the end of the day we all have a choice to fly or not fly. But at the same time we have the right to expect airlines to organise stuff as safely as possible.
Up to you arceye to fly or not but please don't criticise tho who want to.
