bad workmen

Had a quote for work to be done but they have not fulfilled what was stated, ie: door with two side windows that opened ( I have just glass when I said about it I was told too small for opening window)
also gap under door so blows a gale and of course today water comes in under door ( told later they will put metal strip on bottom of door) I am still waiting for them to finish other work in property yet they have already asked for payment. Any ideas would be lovely.

Definitely don't pay them until it's sorted to your satisfaction. Is it just a bloke you know or a reputable company who are fully legal?

Chrisdee asked are they legaly registered?
If so you will have redress
If not don't pay until satisfied or to ease the problem and show goodwill pay them halve until works completed to your satisfaction,
Usualy good builders ask for a deposit/ part payment and issue a contract for your agreement before work commences

You want a new door to start with shouldn't have to make do with a bit added. Ask them to do exactly what was agreed, give them a chance. If they don't comply denounce them and name and shame AND do not pay

The company is legal and I have paid them just under half cost of all the work as I am happy with everything except the door, why draw how the door would look with windows then not follow it through and then to be told after I said about the windows not being there to be told not enough room for windows only solid glass panel.
