bank charges

hi to everyone, I just want to know about the new Caixa bank charges called C living solutions (34euros). Is this every 3 months or is is a once off and why has this happened now. The previous charges were introduced last October at 24e per quarter.

I have just bought a property in quesada and I have the same charge 3 months now paid around £200 pounds on charges for services not even seen it yet

We too had been paying 24€ a quarter after switching last year to this account aimed at non-Spanish residents. Without warning this month the charge was 35€. I emailed and asked if it was a mistake and was told the fees are now 35€ a quarter. I complained that we had not been notified by email or via the app. I have not received a further reply. I’m not impressed.

I totally agree guys but I've come to expect this in Spain. I wonder is there anything we can do about it because it seems the charges are getting higher and higher every year. I find it amazing that they didn't have the courtesy to inform us of the increases.

Seems like we might all be doomed to charges from wherever they choose to throw them at us. I thought transferwise might be my saviour, but on checking how that account works, it too has charges that mount up every month. Just as one example, withdrawing cash of £600 a month, incurs minimal charges of at least £8, more if you withdraw cash from the wrong places.

So, Unless anyone can tell us any different to save us, being charged is a no option way forward.

Fergal if you’ve been banking in Spain for any length of time, I’m amazed you didn’t realise that courtesy or customer service are not concepts that are present in any form!

I believe the Spanish word for a bank customer is ‘cash cow’!

Ok nice one, I guess I was expecting too much, anyway, I just hope this is the last charge but owing to Caixa and Bankia amalgamating who knows?

I left Bankia as their charges were €14 per month.

Look at Wise. Very low bank charges. But you do have to pay for getting cash from an ATM .

I don’t pay any charges with Bankia ,,,never have.
