Covid say 2 and 8 farce

Here's my little story..you couldn't make this up..
Arranged a flight back for 2nd June.
Booked my UK tests via government website on 28th May.
Website said home test PCR kit would be delivered within 24 hours and once despatched I could track it.
So expecting it to be delivered at my isolation address by the time I arrived it was disappointing to see it hadnt arrived.
By my day 2 it still hadn't arrived..on day 3 I I recieve an apologetic email saying it was due to the bank holiday and DHL were at fault...and it will now be delivered on Monday..day 5!!
So here I am 8n the UK,having also booked a 5 day PCR test at a centre in Bristol- which will be on the same day as my day 2 test!!
You would think the UK in trying to combat its covid crisis would not take bank holidays off!!
ATRUC was the site..they didn't answer their phones or respond to emails...how are they on the government affirmed covid/ PCR testing site with a farcical performance like this??

Same happened to me so I phoned 118, nhs line, they sent me a testing kit, I thought for both days but it was only for day two, but by then I had cancelled my order and requested a refund. So I phoned 118 fir asvice and they sent a day 8 test too, both free of charge. I wasn’t allowed to use the testing centre in our local park nor could I use one of the dozens my sons have from work. Day 8 was irrelevant because I had purchased a day five test to be liberated earlier, what a waste of a lot of money!

How did you manage to cancel as your kit is on the locator form?

I don’t understand how you’ve obtained these test kits from NHS and had them analysed at an official lab to get the results as required by Border Force test & trace. NHS don’t do the day 2/8 testing! The UK entry requirements clearly state NHS tests are NOT acceptable! Where did you send the completed test kits for analysis? Who provided and analysed your day 5 test?

I also don’t understand how your day 8 test becomes ‘irrelevant’ because you’ve opted for day 5 early release! You still have to take the day 8 test even when you opt for day 5 release!

You were extremely lucky to get a refund, the whole scandal about some of these test providers is that people are not receiving the test kits but the companies are refusing refunds on the basis they sent them out.

Well, all I can say in their defence is that my daughter is travelling with me to Spain next week and she is coming back a few days later her kit arrived promptly the next day . Not all companies are lax. This"piss up in the brewery" was perfectly arranged and executed.

We were the same our 2 n 8 day tests arrived after out 6th day at home, my husband got his results 16days later I got mine on the the 2nd of June lol3 weeks after it was done had all the excuses under the sun, just a money making racket thats all it is, just wait n see a few years from now the lawyers will be out on force no win no fee, DID YOU EVER HAVE A COVID TEST

Update!
Today(Sunday) an email saying the staff have recieved abuse on line and in their clinics and the metropolitan police are investigating the same abuse.
Very apologetic note explaining the day 2 and 8 day tests are compulsory despite them being late.
So I still intend to do the day 2 hometest when it arrives and the day 5 clinical PCR on the same day . ..

We had no problems with our 2 and 8 days tests nor our, 5th day early release test.

Good to hear.But obviously not booked and expecting à kit over a BH .
