Day 2 and 8 COVID Tests.

We had a lot of help on here from Shap, first you have to go to pharmacy to get tested, but you have to also show you have booked day 2 and day eight, for quarentine, you also want to show you have paid for the 2+8 day test, on the gov site they have a list of labs that do tests, they are sent to the house where you are quarentining, and they ring you every day to make sure you are!!! Sometimes twice a day,, you get your results on the day 2 a few days later,,, and tell you when they have posted the day 8 test, thier are special box boxes outside the post office, you cannot take them in.
Hope this helps

I just looked on that link and price is
£209 is your ones collecting the test from the lab ect ?
Not sure where you're looking. Just the basic Day2/8 the OP requested. You use the Royal Mail Tracked 24 service to send it back to them (pre-paid envelope provided) with the results by email.

I also checked this company and it is £209 if you opt to use their courier service to deliver your test kits. Otherwise it’s £159 using Royal Mail.
I think the main concern about many of these companies is the very high level of complaints about these test kits either not arriving at all, or the first one does and second doesn’t or they arrive several days after the due date for the test.
Also labs saying they are not receiving the returned test samples. So it’s a double problem in that you don’t get the kits so can’t do the required testing and of course, they won’t refund you for the goods you paid for but didn’t receive!
If you don’t receive the test kits, you haven’t actually fulfilled your government quarantine requirements of submitting two negative tests before ending your quarantine! Minefield

Sorry to hear about these bad experiences, but the OP asked for suggestions from people that have used it successfully. You have no choice, but to use a company on the Govt approved list. We (and a neighbour) used the Royal Mail service with NWP, followed the instructions to use parcel post boxes only, and it was fine. As I say I think NWP is the cheapest currently, but their prices do fluctuate. If it is especially important to you then perhaps pay extra for the courier or deliver it by hand to a lab close to where you are quarantining (which could be your local airport as you say). Even the 'basic' Royal Mail service is tracked though, so you can see where your parcels are in the delivery system at all times.

Hello that is so sad, I am flying back tomorrow with EasyJet. I have found it all quite stressful, finding everything, printing it all off, so it would be better if someone can do it for them. Had my antigen test at El Raso pharmacy yesterday (Thursday) 40€ results back at 5 pm. Once I had my negative test I looked and checked for 2-8 day tests last night which took me ages as lots of tests unavailable. I have used Assured Screening.com £159 and received an email from the courier saying test will be with me on Sunday, you get a code once purchased which you have to then put on your Passenger Locator Form which is on the gov.uk site ( that was bit problematic to fill in !) hope this helps, big hugs to your friends x
