Day 2 and 8 COVID Tests.

Please can anyone help with regards to the sudden requirement to return to the UK (England)?
Some friends of mine have just received the awful news that their son has very suddenly and unexpectedly died and are trying to arrange a flight back. Obviously part of this is the requirement of ordering two COVID tests. Has anyone sucessfully done this recently and can point me in the right direction please? I've heard horror stories of some not turning up so would appreciate any advice.

We’ve just booked two 2 and 8 day tests and two test to release 5 days tests, with VIVO (https://vivoclinic.com/), for a similar reason. Can’t comment on their performance as we’ve not departed yet but reviews appear favourable.

What an awful situation for them. I’ve just booked day 2 & day 8 tests for my wife who is flying to Gatwick tomorrow. I’ve also read many stories about the test kits not showing up at all or the test sample returns not being received at the labs. Of course there are no refunds and without these tests, your COVID status is uncertain with regard to current government testing rules.

All I can suggest is if they live anywhere near enough to travel to Gatwick or Heathrow, both airports are doing these tests in a drive-thru centre but you have to attend in person. It’s certainly not the most convenient option but at least this way you know for sure your test sample has been received by the test provider. The cost is £189 and it’s Express Test.

Yes, same here, that's the link I posted above. Strange that prices fluctuate so much. It's £159 now, our neighbour paid £175 and we paid £189 at Easter, all for NWP. Our results came within 48 hours too and if you live near their laboratory (Lutterworth?) you can deliver them by hand for quicker results.

Hi. This is my first post on this site. We also used Nationwide Pathology recently. £169 per person. They are on a list supplied by the Government on their website. The kits arrived on Day 3, my Day 2 result arrived on Day 6 and Day 8 on Day 11. As they hadn't arrived in time for Day 2 tests, I was advised to call 119 and they sent free kits which arrived the following day, the same as NWP. Total shambles!

I just looked on that link and price is
£209 is your ones collecting the test from the lab ect ?
