Hi Marcliff,
It seems u have a good knowledge about Spanish visa & how to do things here and we have been struggling to find an answer.
I tried to send u a private message but couldn't! Would u be able to send me a private message or give me ur email address, so I can explain & see if u would be able to put us in a right direction, please?
Many thanks
Rokhsareh

Much better if you pose your question to the open forum. Others will have gone through the process quite recently and may be far better to answer your query and be fully up to date with current procedures.
I went through the process over 10 years ago when it was totally different and transferred to a TIE when they opened extra centres to process them but which have now closed so the procedures will definitely have changed.
Some pretty knowledgeable people on here with recent experiences.

Hi Marcliff,
Thanks for getting back to me, the story is...
My partner is trying to apply for his self-employed visa & he went to Spanish consulate in London to be told he needs to apply from Spain & giving him an address in Alicante. We found out that this place in Alicante doesn't accept visitors or walk in customers. But we can't get an online appointment either!
My partner has registered himself as a self-employed with an Accountant already and paying social security but we don't know how to apply for the self-employed visa. We have already been in touch with right move insurance & one way services but they don't know either!
Now my question is, do u know how to go about it before he runs out of his 90 days, please?
many thanks

Sorry, I've never been autonomo in Spain and don't know anyone who has applied since the rules changed.
Perhaps someone has recent experience but I know there are very few appointments at Alicante for any type of paperwork at the moment.
If you change the title of the thread to something like applying for work visa or applying for autonomo then someone in the know could help you out.
Although I do find it odd that the Spanish consulate in UK said you had to apply in Spain as all the advice seems to be that you can't do that unless you already have residency and that all such application have to be made in your home country if you are not in the EU.
This from a firm of solicitors that specialise in such things:
"That is something many of our clients ask us. Can I go to Spain in order to find a job offer without having a residence permit, and applying for it after I found a company that wants to hire me?
The answer is simple: no.
The Immigration Office is really strict with this issue, and it clearly states that in order to apply for a work permit in the country you must be in your country of origin. Being in an illegal situation Spain won’t enable you to go through a successful application.
This means that, if you receive a job offer while you are in Spain, you should not accept it. No matter how hard the employer insists on hiring you. The foreign worker, in order to get his or her permit to work in the country, must be under a legal situation in his or her origin country."
They also talk of getting the freelance (self employed) visa but again say:
"There is one condition that is common with the work permit as an employee. And that is that you cannot be in Spain for the application. The procedure must be carried out from your country of origin or there where you have your consular demarcation (where you have your legal residence)."

What address have you been given?
If it's Calle de la Ebanisteria 4 then that's the place for applying for a TIE or exchanging a green residencia for a TIE, it's nothing whatsoever to do with visas which you can only get from a Spanish consulate in UK.
At tbe moment I'm not sure there is a visa for autonomo.

delegacion del gobierno de alicante is just the body that gives information, appointments for extranjeria etc... but like marcliff said above there is no "self employed visa" and even tho he is self employed and paying taxes that doesnt make he legally apt to be here. unless he was doing so before brexit and has a green residencia. if not then he has to apply for a working visa from the uk and then come over and apply for working permit here and then become autonomo. which means he needs to meet all the legal requirements for a working visa private medical etc then come back because i doubt they will accept him. get in contact with a lawyer specialised in these things and also with the british consulate. sanchez butron laywers in los montesinos has a specialsed deparment for residencias and legal documents to live here etc. they speak perfect english and this is where i call everytime i need info and help also a lawyer.
