Iberdrola bill doubled ?
Iberdrola bill doubled ?
by Maz51 » Thu Sep 15, 2022 2:03 pm
Good afternoon
I have just received my Electric Bill from Iberdrola. My usage accounted for €113.00 but the Regulatory tax charges are €119.99 euros. I changed my tariff from Same all day to night tariff so it would be cheaper. A bill now of €250.11
This is absolutely an ridiculous charge.
All replies will be greatly appreciated by any in the same position as myself.
Thanks

Been discussed on here several times. They are not tax charges, they are to compensate the gas companies (who provide the electricity companies with the power to produce electricity) for the fact that they are supplying gas at cheaper than the market rate due to the cap on prices and making a loss.
Anyone changing tariffs after 26th April this year or taking out a new contract will have been hit with this charge.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I understand the reason why we are being charged this astronomical amount each month. Why are these charges not be rolled out to everyone as to make it cheaper to those who have changed their tariffs and are being penalised. We have been Iberdrola account holders for years and are not new customers we just wanted a cheaper tariff. Apologies for the rant………..

Hi
Thank you for your reply. Have asked in Guardamar office but to no avail. They said it’s just another charge that they can do nothing about. By May 31st next year we will have paid over €1000 regulatory charges. Absolutely appalling.
Thanks

Is the extra charge not a one - off charge then? Also, is it a charge based upon usage or a flat fee? We have a holiday home and our usual bill is around 35 euros per month. Is ours likely to go up to around 70 euros due to this charge, or are we likely to be hit with a charge many times greater than our actual usage?

We were hit with this gas charge which was €146, our bill was a whopping €413 it usually is around the €80 mark, what a shock, I went down to the Iberdrola office, they say it is correct, looking at the bill, I can't even see what the readings are, it's so confusing, I think it has been read incorrectly, my tariff wasn't changed at all, so I'm guessing that we are all going to be hit with this gas charge, it feels like we have been robbed by Iberdrola.
