Non resident bank accounts

Non resident bank accounts

Postby crazychris » Mon Dec 27, 2021 11:38 am

Hello.

I currently have a Caixa "Hola Bank" non resident account . This year 2021, I will pay 225 euros to them in bank commissions, which is ridiculous. I am looking at alternative banks or ways to pay my bills in Spain without a bank account. I know I can pay my water and electric bills directly with the suppliers. But what about SUMA?. Any advise or experience would be welcomed.

Use thus link ang get a free transfer https://wise.com/invite/u/frederickp1

I have used Wise since it began and very happy with them transfers are completed in seconds also you can get a debit card in most currencies and pay direct debits with the account I have recommended this service for a long time now and no complaints up to now

You get 2 free withdrawals per month, look on the link and read the conditions of the debit card

Genuine Question on that (not saying “wrong”)
Does Wise “free” cover both their (Wise) charge for use of the card or that and also that of the cash machine bank as well?

I admit that I never use my Wise card at machines because I had thought the Bank charged 3 or 4 euros separately
(i.e. the Euro amount withdrawn from Wise - or added to the Euro Amount that is converted - is greater than the cash amount received in hand from the machine)
- but the thought could well be wrong

The 2 free withdrawals are FREE from Wise but depending on which ATM you are using there may be a charge from the owners of the ATM

I ditched Caixa in favour of the Wise acc for which i got a debit card in the post. Ive transfered all my DD to it..Iberdrola was the easiest. Hidraqua the most difficult but got it done in person in the end.

I was recommended on here to try BBVA in Rojales for my withdrawals. I did that but was charged 6 euros for the pleasure. Im hoping going forward someone on here can recommend another place to try without incurring this charge. All in all im happy i did it..
Regards
