Careful, the Quesada right wing won’t like that.
England is right wing, it stands to reason that those in Quesada are of the same view.
I've met a few left wing English, but they are few, and far between nowadays. In the 80s the country was teeming with them. Blair killed them off.
England is now further to the right than any other European country, indeed one could argue a degree of fascism is now being normalised.

The typical 'unpatriotic' right wing tory response is downright insulting. I love Scotland and its its international socialist politics, happy at the way it voted to stay in the EU and hope it will be back in soon. Its so sad and embarrassing how Johnson and his inept govt is ruining the UK and its credibility.
cjrk is there any chance you or one of you pals might enlighten me on how Johnson has been anything but an absolute embarrassing disaster in his personal life as well as his leadership? Ok the vaccine programme is an NHS positive, thanks mainly to medical staff, the military And volunteers, but anything else?
Do you really think he projects the kind of UK we can be proud of? I can provide a long list of bozo's U turns and pig's ears if you are interested but I suspect the wool is well pulled down over the eyes.

Oh this is a really a good & balanced debate
If:
·my input on Scottish affairs was to make nasty little remarks about the "the Widow Twanky" (as a Scottish friend refers to the First Minister of Scotland) or to wonder and speculate about her predecessor and his admission that his "behaviour had not always been appropriate" (whilst cleared of 13 sexual offences at the High Court last year),
·then, all that I could say about a proud Socialist tradition in the Labour Party was to denigrate its leader as "Jeremy's ex bag-carrier" (I am very much not a member)
would it be helpful and perhaps add to the discussion?

You'll have to point out to me where I praised Johnson or even said anything remotely good about him. As for Scotland leaving the UK and joining the EU, well good luck to you in that. Hopefully you'll get the referendum you've been after for ages and leave and see if the grass is truly greener on the other side. I haven't got anything against the Scots, indeed I served alongside them when I was in the army and loved it. My opinions are mine alone and I respect everyone else's although I might not agree with them.

Where are your right wing opinions formed from then?[/quote] Glassfull
Actually,I'm not right wing.As a working class northerner I am a natural labour party voter but current and former labour party policies do not represent working class lads like myself.
Neither Corbyn nor Bliar(no spelling mistake)represented the working classes.
I voted Brexit because I believe the future of my country is best outside the EU.Nobody in Europe has ever voted for a political union such as the EU has become..Former Russian leader,Gorbachev, who knows about such things, described the EU as the USSR in a suit. The EUSSR if you like.
There is no such thing as a neutral newspaper.I form my views by reading lots of widespread stuff with differing points of view.

No he didn't. That's another "bendy banana" lie that a lot of people swallowed. It's one of those quotes that appeared on Leave EU groups on Facebook with no source. It was a referendum built on lies. Find the actual quote detailing where and when he said it if I'm wrong.

OK, if it is that important to you, I believe it stems from this (not exactly a Gorbachev quote but about what the aim of USSR policy was, mentioning Gorbachev) - Gorbachev is highlighted as referring to the 'new European Soviet'
The "new European Soviet": "During a late-February address in Brussels, former Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky warned that the European Union -- referred to by former Soviet dictator Mikhail Gorbachev as the 'new European Soviet' -- represents a continuation of the totalitarian vision he had fought against in Russia.... The former Soviet president Mikhail S. Gorbachev put it more succinctly when he told the official Russian news agency, Ria Novosti, last week that 'It is all about influence and domination in Europe.'” (New York Times, 4-18-07)
"In 1992 I had unprecedented access to Politburo and Central Committee secret documents which have been classified, and still are even now, for 30 years. These documents show very clearly that the whole idea of turning the European common market into a federal state was agreed between the left-wing parties of Europe and Moscow as a joint project which [Soviet leader Mikhail] Gorbachev in 1988-89 called our “common European home.”
MORE - Former Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky said in Brussels -
"The idea was very simple. It first came up in 1985-86, when the Italian Communists visited Gorbachev, followed by the German Social-Democrats. They all complained that the changes in the world... were threatening to wipe out the achievement (as they called it) of generations of Socialists and Social-Democrats – threatening to reverse it completely. Therefore the only way to withstand this onslaught of wild capitalism (as they called it) was to try to introduce the same socialist goals in all countries at once. Prior to that, the left-wing parties and the Soviet Union had opposed European integration.... From 1985 onwards they completely changed their view. The Soviets came to a conclusion and to an agreement with the left-wing parties that if they worked together they could hijack the whole European project and turn it upside down. Instead of an open market they would turn it into a federal state.

So much animosity toward the Country that is no doubt funding, via pensions of one form or another, many a retirement in Spain.
