Opening a uk bank while resident in Spain

Hi, has anyone managed to open a bank account in the uk while resident in spain?

Apart from an offshore bank you cannot open a UK bank account whilst a resident in Spain.
You can, however open an internet bank account like N25 or Wise.
Most UK banks will allow you to continue using their bank whilst a resident in Spain, but not open a new one.

You can hold a sterling account for all your UK direct debits etc if that's what you need.

HSBC were opening new accounts for residents earlier this year but I don’t know about now. Worth a check though

Wise is great, for a small fee think it's £5 they'll send a card out as well which you can use in any currency. I have Wise set up for Euro and GBP, but you can have lots of different currencies under one account and all local IBAN numbers, sort/account codes. Also one of the best conversion rates around, they even show you a comparison before exchanging against other Forex companies.

I have opened a Sterling Bank account since living in, and as a resident in Spain, however, the address is pointing to my daughters address in the UK
