I’m sure it was mentioned on here recently about a bar on the row where Jolly’s is, is now brewing their own beers. I can’t find the thread now though.

Regarding the Dog and Firkin, and the mini brewery near Jolly’s, do they brew bitters and ales or just the usual lagers?

A friend and I researched this a couple of years ago when thinking of setting up a brewery in, probably, El Raso. It was fun as we visited several Spanish and German breweries not least to understand any issues they had and the supply chain for necessary ingredients (we also tasted many beers). Then, by pure chance, I came across a real ale in a bar at La Finca; the bar has since closed. This led me to Another Planet Brewing in Torre Pacheco - Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/AnotherPlanetB ... KGUm2Sqaav or website https://anotherplanetbrewing.com/- and several meetings with its founder / brewer. This is the only 'British' real ale brewery on the Costa Blanca. Its nearest 2 outlets are the Dog & Firkin already mentioned and Illy's in Villa Martin. Visits can be arranged for Tuesday afternoons and bottled beer bought. I have spoken several times about supplying a Quesada bar but production capacity has to increase for this to take place. Hope this helps your quest.

Thanks for your reply so in essence it’s a non starter and the investment wouldn’t be worth it and it’s a big gamble to get it to the beer pump people want cheap beer and good which you can’t blame them , so John smiths smoooth is the answer or Guinness. There is also greene king in kegs , I expect the tax on brewing beer would be quite high , maybe one day some one will try this and set up a working brewery and a few months ago a guy did this in France it really taken of and he has little or no experience in brewing but it was a success , there is micro breweries for sale at some good prices but the cost of buying pins or cask it all adds up and would it work also buying the bottles and filling them well it’s a issue to look into perhaps one day

There's the "Amber Brewery", (I think it's called) overlooking the sea in Torrevieja, which I've passed but not yet partaken, but I have enjoyed a glass of IPA at 'De Bassus', at la Zenia. The only other, locally, which I'm aware of is in Catral - already mentioned. Just to rub it in a bit, I'm on a long weekend back in Brum, making up for my Real Ale.
