Residencia- TIE

Residencia- TIE

Postby Ritchtee » Sat Oct 23, 2021 1:08 pm

Hi
Sorry if this has been asked before.

Does anyone have knowledge on changes to Residencia?
I work and have a contract here in Spain but have been told that my contract will be suspended in December unless I have the new TIE?

I have searched online but there’s no info on this

Would appreciate feedback from experience only please

Can't see how they can say that when the green A4 is still legal and should be accepted. It's easy enough to change it though and cost you 12 euros and the inconvenience of doing it. Not sure if Torrevieja have started to do again but if not it's a trip to Alicante x 2

Just Alicante coming up on the appointments page.
The old registro certificate should still be valid although I have heard of some not accepting it and requiring a TIE. The bank wouldn't accept the green one for ID purposes as there was no photo on it.

CAB Spain reckons that the green one will be phased out as the EU has issued an instruction that national ID cards should conform to the same standard but doesn't say when, just that it is likely.
