S1 submission online

Hi, does anyone know (roughly) how long it takes for the INSS to process the S1 when submitted online?

Obviously a long time ago since we had ours done so things will have changed but we got a temporary card almost straight away and the full one about 8 weeks later. That was before the health centres had the ability to produce them and we had to wait for it to come from Orihuela which was responsible for issuing them back in the prehistoric days.

Thanks very much for this Marcliff. I've already got my SIP as I've been under my husband's S1, but have now been issued with my own, so I submitted it electronically for processing. My entitlement to health care has been removed since I reached my own retirement age, so I need it processed ASAP now!

When my wife did hers it took about 3-4 months from the online submission to receiving the paperwork to take to the medical centre. I don't know if this is typical and it was nearly a year ago when she did it. Her existing card wasn't revoked though so hopefully yours will be quicker.

I submitted my application online on 31st August this year and received my approval on 27th September, so around four weeks. I was previously covered under my wife's S1 and therefore already had an actual red card. I took my approval document to the medical centre in Rojales which they scanned and simply updated my file in their system. They told me to keep the same card as my SIP number remains unchanged.
