Can you remember when it wasn’t against the law to have a laugh?

Please don’t put words in my mouth. It is obvious that I meant we could all laugh at ‘ourselves’ without fear of upset.

I do Benjy, but sadly the worlds gone a little mad, instead we don't say much, and live in fear of even just saying the wrong 'word' in a sentence. we daren't even laugh at our selves, in case it comes across as something else. So we stick to chatting about simple topics, like the weather, for fear of someone taking offence, and usually on 'someone else's' behalf too, someone else who isn't offended at all.
But, it's the future apparently, its the way forward now, no going back, well not without repercussions anyway.
I've probably said too much already, lol, so I wont write anymore on this topic,
I do understand what you mean though. Now its time to go back behind the curtains peering at the outside world as it goes by.

With you all the way Benjy. But all is not lost... for better or worse both Trump and Johnson will go a long way to reversing this so-called political correctness.

So much for freedom of speech. These days because of “ Political Correctness” there is no freedom of speech without repercussions .
Happy in the sun.

Used to love the ‘comedians’ on ITV. Charlie Williams telling jokes about people from Bradford. To many Irish comics to mention telling Irish, Scottish and English jokes. Gotta admit my favourite was Ken Goodwin.

But that was half a century ago when people didn’t give a toss about offending anyone.
Today, we are more enlightened and educated and are a little more sensitive to people’s feelings
