We are travelling to spain by ferry.
Can we complete the spth form? It appears to be only for air flights.

There is no Spth form anymore provided you have the vaccine certificate.
It's been posted on here many times. If your vaccination certificate shows you have had both vaccines within the last 270 days (9 months) or you have had a booster or have a recovery certificate showing you have had the virus in 11 days to 6 months then no locator form is required by whatever means you arrive.

Only those from EU countries require an Spth form if they don't have the certificates.
And please say where you are travelling from as the rules from Ireland (or any EU country) and the UK are different.

UK vaccination or recovery certificate or, from 12 to 17 years old, negative PCR test. EU then negative PCR test is acceptable.

The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism for Spain announced that the requirement for travellers from outside the EU to only enter if they have been fully vaccinated will end in "days".

Visitors will be able to enter Spain with a negative test if they have not been vaccinated, she said.

Awaiting official confirmation of her statement.

BOE Order INT/452/2022 issued yesterday modifies the restrictions placed on countries that are not in the EU or EEA travelling to Spain.

Countries previously listed under article k of the requirements to enter Spain from third nation countries (which includes UK) now states the following is required to enter the Schengen area from those countries.

k) Persons with a vaccination certificate against COVID-19 or a recovery certificate or a negative diagnosis certificate for said disease, which the Ministry of Health recognizes for these purposes, after verification by the health authorities.

The same criteria for those entering from a Schengen country, negative PCR test within 72 hours of travel or negative antigen test within 24 hours of travel.

Those under 12 do not require a certificate or test.

This will be in effect from the day it is published which is today.

Travellers from Schengen area countries will no longer have any checks on entering Spain. No paperwork for covid required and will not undergo temperature and physical checks at airports or seaports.

Those from non Schengen countries will still be checked on entry and require a certificate showing full vaccine schedule, recovery certificate or negative covid test as previously posted. Temperature and physical checks will still be necessary for non Schengen travellers.

From the BOE issued today which modifies the previous BOE on arrivals in Spain
"People who arrive in Spain by air or sea from countries that do not belong to the European Union or are not considered Schengen associated countries may be subjected to a health control at the first point of entry that will include, at least, the taking temperature, a documentary control and a visual check on their physical condition."
