It's very difficult to stay calm when you read the opinions of the I'll informed arm chair warriors who with the benefit of hindsight lay claim to all the answers. Not one these offer a solution to the problems that are arriving.
If they think they have the answers, why are they not standing for public office and where they can Aire their views to a wider audience perhaps have their views ridiculed by other informed people.
I would also Caution against compering one country against another. Are you sure that you are are comparing like for like. Each country does it differently. The nursing home figures were not included in Spains figures. Just a thought. I recall my dad saying "before you critizse someone, walk a mile in his shoes"

Well from reading these posts I can tell who the remoaners are, stop blaming the government and take responsibility for your self just because the government is not holding your hand and putting measurements in place doesn't mean you can't do it yourself or are you all sheep and follow the crowd.
It's obvious that the UK is doing well on testing as the more you test the more positives you'll find, stop listening to the gutter press because all they do is put out propaganda and half facts, they say 50,000 infections per day they never actually tell you that 49,990 are probably without symptoms.
The gutter press are there to cause panic, just like the so called shortage of fuel, which didn't exist.
Just turn the lying divisive news channels off.

In regard to deaths, the figure might look high but in reality its not, when compared to other illnesses. You also need to factor in that the death figure is where the person had a positive test in the previous 28 days, but not that covid was the cause of death. The figures are misleading. You could die in a car accident but be a positive covid figure, or die from cancer and also be a covid figure if you had tested positive..

I find the expression Remoaner as offensive as the Leavers once did when they were called fascist.

This was at the very start of the pandemic when the virus was an unknown. The world’s governments were getting conflicting advice from WHO & their own scientific advisors, so it unsurprising that mistakes were made. let’s not forget the poor reaction in Spain to the pandemic which allowed their health service to become overrun at the start of this pandemic.
Also, no one seems to mention the furlough scheme where the UK government covered 80% of workers pay while staying at home..From what I have been told, that is far better than what the Spanish government did for their citizens.
As for the virus running wild through the country ?? I had to have 2 doses of vaccine before I caught it & I can count on one hand the number of people I know that have had it. All this UK bashing by a few ‘ex pats’ on their moral high horse is a bit pathetic..

Here we go again conveniently confusing UK bashing with an absolute disgust and no confidence in this useless govt and the clown we have as a PM.
I doubt there are a" few 'ex pats' " on this forum who have anything but love for their place of birth. For me UK is going to hell in a handcart led by a lying, self serving buffoon who is an pathetic embarrassment and is responsible for dragging our country down. Anyone who cannot see that is a delusional little englander.

Boris may well be lying and self-serving and he's definitely a buffoon but everyone on here seems to have conveniently forgotten who the alternatives were at the last election. If Corbyn had got his hands on No. 10 the UK would be at the bottom of the woodpiel by now and anyone who thinks differently is definitely delusional.
I don't think any government in the world has covered themself in glory over handling the pandemic, only today it was announced that cases in Germany have risen 70% in a week and Russia's statistics are abysmal. I don't think Boris has done any worse than many of them, they are all supposedly led by their scientists (who never agree with each other anyway).
Let's just try to get through this as best we can without constantly running everyone else down.

There are countless examples of why Boris and, the Government, he is directed to lead, have lied and let the Country down and, yet, you repeat the unqualified nonsense perpetuated by the British media at the behest of that Party.
