Water pipes

Postby Gez » Tue Aug 15, 2023 8:03 am

Can anyone help. There is a water leak from the mains pipe. If us not effecting our water as the wheel is not moving. I have emailed Aqamed to advise them the leak is in the public footpath which seams to be a mains issue. They advised as itvis outside our house if us for us to fix. Advised not sure where the actual leak is. As if is not effecting our water consumption.,think if is a mains issue. They, have not cone back. I know if is a red day. But I am also aware about not wasting water. Not sure what else to do. Thank You.

If you are absolutely sure that the underground leak is in the supply pipe to your house, and your meter is not active, then the leak repair is 100% the responsibility of the water company. As president of our community I have had these issues with Hidraqua several times over the years, and come to the conclusion that they have a policy of dishonestly trying to convince consumers to believe that the responsibility for repairing the leaks is not the water company’s. You have to insist it is.

Thank you very much. As my Meter dial is not moving, it proves the leak is not our responsibility. I am just upset the water is just going down the road. When water is such a premium in Spain.

I would contact Agamed again. In my experience in Quesada, Hidraqua are quite quick to come out and assess / resolve the situation if the leak is their responsibility. They will also tell you if it's not. In this case it's only Agamed that can carry out any necessary repairs so nothing will get done until they attend the location and see for themselves. Maybe email them photos if it helps show them better where it is.

Thank you, have already e mailed them twice. Today the email just gets rejected. Will try again tomorrow. I suppose the e mail rejected as a red day.

The email should go through unless you've replied to one they sent which says no reply. It would sit in their outbox until they read it.

I've always phoned Hidraqua on the 'incidencias' number and given the contract number of the person I'm phoning for so they can pinpoint where to come to, but if you've had a response to an email before then that should work too.

We live in Torrevieja so it's Agamed all the way. The e mail came back from the postmaster stating could not deliver. I did send it as a separate e mail.
Thank you everyone. Going to stick to my guns. As the leak is not costing me anything. Hate waste.

Yes, only said Hidraqua because that's our supplier who I've dealt with in Quesada, but I assume it's a similar process with Agamed. Leaks cost everyone more. Good luck!
