Water tanker.

Water tanker.

Postby Mac davies » Sat Sep 24, 2022 10:31 am

Hi all
We are having our pool regrouted soon and was wondering which is the best option to fill it back up, water tanker or from the outside tap?

In towns I have been told it's cheaper to fill using a hose pipe from your tap. It is also better for your new grout as the water is flowing much slower than if a tanker filled it. If you have an internal filler for your pool do not use this until your pool has sufficient water in it otherwise you can remove the grout with the water hitting the floor in one spot.

Hose.
Tanks are too expensive and the water isn't always "clean" and can have high PH.
People think hose is expensive but it's not

Our friends used the hose pipe and their water bill wasn’t much different, so we’ve just filled ours with the hose pipe. Haven’t seen the water bill yet though. Used a tanker last time. Cost €500. Ouch.

Ours is an 8x4 I think and it was around 130 from the hose

My next door neighbour had hers filled by tanker, it took 4 trips, they will only deliver full loads, so after the 4th load the pool still had 5 tile depths to go, which is less than a tanker load, so she topped up with the hose, it cost 450 euros, where as when my pool was re-tiled I did it by hosepipe at a cost of 120 euros, both pools are the same size, so its a no brainer.
