Are there any dog friendly beaches near Quesada?

Are there any dog friendly beaches near Quesada?

Hi there

New to this forum! Coming over to our house in Quesada in late May and we're bringing our dog. Just wondering if there are any local beaches that we're allowed to take the dog onto? When we were in Tarragona a few years ago we were removed by the police as it wasn't a dog friendly beach but there were no signs!

Thanks

Is there a law about dogs on libre beaches?

Hi at the moment none. They are trying to get one but the local vet says it is an up hill struggle however it is backed by one of the political parties so should come at some stage, if your dog loves the water it is best to go at 7 in the morning in out of the way places, the Spanish take dogs on the beach but everyone can be fined so be vigilant especially in high season. ;)

there are large signs by the beaches with various information on them, even indicating NO DOGS ALLOWED, but some people are so ignorant and inconsiderate that they ignore the signs and let their animals loose!!

We spoke to the police at Guardamar and were advised that despite the signs there were no objections to dogs running off the lead on the beach between Oct and April provided they did not interfere with anyone and pickup bags were used.

Not everyone is ignorant and inconsiderate.

Well said maisesdad we have two dogs and regularly run them on the beach and let them swim in the sea out of season when no one is using the beaches. They are always under control and we always take them on after they have done their toilets.

Thanks everyone - having travelled with our dog through Spain and France I appreciate that the rules vary from place to place and don't want to get caught out! And as a responsible dog owner, we always clean up after our dog, regardless of where we are!

We will be coming over in October with our black Lab. Pleased to know that he will be able to have a run on the beach. We always carry bags wherever we go :D

If you do take your dogs on the beach , please remember "DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED " on the beach so you can be fined 1000 euros. Some police may turned a blind eye but some may not.
Happy in the sun.
