Flying myself and dog to the UK from Spain

Postby Lorna williams » Wed Nov 18, 2015 6:50 pm

Hi, looking for a reliable company who can organise flight for myself and my dog to the UK from Spain. Has anyone done this and can they recommend anyone. Looking at the end of January. Is it easier to do this through a pet travel agent or can it be done independently. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have just booked myself and the dog to fly over in December to Alicante. it was really easy to do... just look up Monarch Airlines, then click on the pets icon. They will book you and the dog on the same flights and will give you a quote. My dog is a Jack Russell cross and the cost including her travel container was 475 sterling. If you use a company it will be a lot more expensive, I was quoted between 585 and 875 sterling.Be aware that it is more expensive to fly back to the UK, I have been quoted 600 for the return journey to the UK with Monarch.
Yes it is a lot of money, but when I took into account my time, fuel, hotel and ferry costs for me personally it works out better.
I hope this helps

If your pets travel by road with the company I/we use they charge 250 euro per dog, they stop every 4 hours to walk the dogs, journey normally 2 days and are well looked after.
