Is a Staffie on the list of dangerous dogs in Spain?

Hi Everyone

Can anyone give us some information please.

We have a house in Quesada. We come over quite a few times a year We were thinking of bringing our Staffie over as we miss him when we are not in England.

Can anyone tell us if a Staffie is on the list of dangerous dogs in Spain. We have looked on the internet and some sites do list them but others do not so we are unclear about the situation.

Any information would help.

Yes they are as my neighbour has one you have to register then when living here and they are supposed to be muzzled when out and about. I see many staffies when out walking my dogs which are never muzzled as always on a lead.

Sadly yes they are. We have had Staffies in Quesada for the past 14 years. What you have to do is Insurance full liability, psychological test done in Rojales nice English speaking Doctor takes 10 mins then take Certs and passport to the Ayuntamiento in Rojales 1st floor and speak to Anna left hand side of the office at the back, Mine don't wear muzzle just a halti which seems to suffice a lot of people don't bother with anything but I would sooner be safe than sorry. You are issued with a certificate which I had shrunk down and laminated and I carry it in my purse. Hope this helped.

:text-goodpost:

Except a Halti doesn't stop a dog from biting someone if the owner loses control. Dogs classed as dangerous should, by law, be muzzled when out in public.
