Place where people goes with their dogs?

Hi! We moved recently to ciudad quesada from Alicante city. So beginning to discover the place.
There in Alicante we used to take our dog to a park that where usually visited by people with their dogs. So he had always dogs to play with, and without the leash.
We are in urbanization albamar. Wich is in lo marabu. (South to ciudad quesada) For now he is happy running after rabbits. But would be better if we can take him to play with other dogs every often.

Hello Julian,

He's a lovely dog! I hope you can find somewhere that he can run around and have fun and exercise with other friendly dogs.

Hopefully there will be some dog owners on the forum who will be able to tell you the best places to go for this.

We are moving over in October and bring our black Lab, Pablo. He's 2.5 and very friendly! We will be in Dona Pepa 2. He likes his daily run off lead - where do you go? Thanks

I struggle with places to take my dog over here. There is a dog park down near lidl but i am not sure of other places. Would love to find some exciting walks for mine too

El Recorral park.
Dogs not allowed off lead in main park area, but take the path up past to the top and through the pine forests.
(Beware in processional caterpilla time though.)
Path continues back down towards the lemon tree road direction.
Have tried to put a map together here if its any clearer.
Not sure how legal it is letting your dogs off leads there, but many do it.
Don't do it in main area of park though as its not allowed & park is patrolled by police.

Thanks Martin - arrived last Friday with our Dog and today I took him for a walk in Recorral Park. It was deserted, just one other dog walking lady who said she thought there was a €60 fine for letting your dog off the lead but that is was OK on 'the other side?!' I just need to work out where this area is! Presumably it's the area you're talking about but my sense of direction is pretty poor I'll study your map!

Hello anybody with dogs. Can you tell me whether there is a law in place which stats that dogs are not allowed in any pubs or restaurants . We have friends bringing their chihuahua in June and are wondering if they can take their little fella to places with them when they go out in the evenings. I think this may be a problem but would appreciate any guidance to pass on. Many thanks in advance.

For most of the year they will not have a problem eating or drinking outside, with their dog, when the bars and restaurants have a terrace. In fact so many places around the area are so welcoming to dogs and even have bowls of water ready for them.

Even if they came in Winter lots of places have awnings on the terrace which are used throughout the Winter as well to keep the chill off and usually dogs are welcome in those too.

I don't think they will have a problem at all during June as it will be warm and most people eat and drink outside then. As in the UK, dogs (except guide dogs) are not allowed by law inside restaurants and supermarkets but that's normal.

Much better in Spain than the UK as we can generally find places to eat and drink with dogs in tow. I can tell you lots of places in Quesada but you will see them on your walks.

I believe there's a park specifically for dogs in Lo Marabu, near Lidl and Consum. Plenty of room for them to run about and sniff. And there's a poo bin available.
