Register Your Dog!

Postby Drama Queen » Fri Mar 27, 2015 11:49 am

The police were at El Recorral park this morning warning owners they must keep their dogs on leads at all times and that the dogs must be registered at the town hall. It's simple and free and you simply fill in a form. It is so that they know how many dogs there are in the area.
They also said that they welcome people reporting dangerous animals and my husband told them about the German woman with the Alsatian which has bitten several dogs in the park. We now have photos of the dog running free, and her car number plate, so will be doing that. If anyone else has experience of this woman, and is also willing to sign the Denuncia, please PM me.

We will be coming over in October with our Black Lab, Pablo. Is there somewhere that he can get his daily run off lead do you know? We will be living on Dona Pepa 2. :text-thankyouyellow:

Yes, The valley next to the El Recorral park at the far end of the golf course in Quesada. In the park itself you might get a telling off, as it's used a lot by local people. But past the bird boxes belonging to the Pigeon Club, most people let their dogs run as long as they are safe and socialised. Strictly speaking, dogs should always be kept on lead, but in the valley, except in the hunting season when it isn't safe to let them off, no one minds if they are friendly dogs.

I noticed today that just up from the Spanglish bar opposite petrol station a woman just opened gate to field hung the lead on gate closed gate and let her dog have a run, don't know if legal though.

They've been doing that for years in various fenced in fields - Not nice for the adjoining properties though, I always think, especialy in Summer as a few people who do this just call the dog after its run and any dog mess is left to fester in the heat.

dogs should be on a leed at all times there are no concessions this is the Law.
We live in Algorfa and went to the Town Hall to register our dog and were told it is not necessary. What does one do when told this. Each Town seems to make up their own Laws.
