Postby darkim » Tue May 10, 2022 10:56 am

Could someone give me some advice about applying for a tourist licence please for our two bedroom townhouse in Dona Pepa. We are thinking about either short or long term let and any advice woukd be appreciated as we are not sure how or where to start.
Many thanks in advance

Not needed for Long Term rental
If short or Holiday rental first check with you community if on one, then you must get a certificate from the Town Hall at Rojales that the property is fit and proper for rental purposes then you fill in the Touristic Licence application form and post if off . if you are lucky you may get the licence about 12 months later
Good luck

This article by Spanish Solutions is from 2019, but is still a useful explanation of what is required as it was written after the most recent update to the law. Although we no longer do short-term lets, I'm so glad we did ours before the changes. We did it ourselves and it was a simple matter of posting the application to Alicante and waiting a few months. It's much more costly and long-winded now. Spanish Solutions can help you as could any local gestor or solicitor: https://www.spanishsolutions.net/blog/l ... -alicante/

Merry Maids sorted ours out. It took around 18 months for the licence to actually come through. They can also sort the letting side out.

Hi - I saw this thread and it is interesting to us as we are thinking of renting ours out when we're not using it. I had read somewhere (not sure where) that once you have your application in, that you can go ahead and rent it out whilst waiting for everything to come through. Is this correct?

Thanks.

I was told this was the case but if you are wanting to advertise on Vrbo for example, they won't let you proceed with the application without your tourist licence number.

You also need to have the Licence Plaque situated in the property which you will not have until you receive a VT number
