Thanks for reading,,, Gretta

Hi ,when we viewed you seem to get more house for your money in areas with less amenities,we found ourselves being able to walk to a supermarket and bar was very important, buses are almost non excitent in Quesada, we like being only a 15 minute walk into the Main Street ,always get a taxi back if you don't fancy walking . We have a few local bars in our area where we have made friends and been welcomed , I would hire a car and drive around yourself to gauge what is about , some of the estate agents we meet were really nice but at the end of the day they just want to sell you a house ,and if they tell you it's a 20 minutes to amenities then they are talking mo farrah pace ,take your time have a good look there are plenty of places for sale ,don't let agents rush you they always say this house will go quick. Good luck

Good advice!
Also do your own walks to amenities when you find an area or property you like and see for yourself how long it takes. Looking around at your leisure will pay off in the end.
There is no rush to buy any property you take a liking to, no matter how much the agent may tell you there is.
Also deposits in Spain are non refundable if you pull out of the sale. Always read the small print and don't be pushed into a deposit until you are absolutely sure the area and property suit what you need.
Ask on here if you are not sure as our members have a wealth of information.

We have just spent our first winter in our apartment in Quesada and agree it is nice to be part of a community. In my opinion much depends on what type of property you are looking for. There are lots of communities in Quesada and surrounding areas but in my opinion the most social are apartments or townhouses with a communal pool. If you are after a detached property there is less chance of being part of a community as they seem to keep themselves more to themselves.
There are some excellent small communities in Dona Pepa, La Marquesa near the golf course, Bravo Hills, near Jolly's Bar, El Raso to name a few, which are all walking distance to amenities. I am sure other posters will add others. As Jan mentioned take your time looking round and if you like a place see if you can talk to any of the residents before committing.

Thanks sooooo much for posting Really appreciate it A wee town house would suit our needs best but it’s always about compromise when property shopping It’s exciting and a bit overwhelming too Keep your fingers crossed for us Maybe we can be neighbors soon and meet for coffee
Best regards

Communities are not all they are cracked up to be, too many rules and regulations. I.e. colours of awnings, swimming pool opening hours, noise, painting walls, more or less anything you wish to do or change has to be authorised by the community President etc..sometimes has to be put before the AGM, it is more suitable for holiday homes where most responsibilities are left to others, I.e. pool cleaning, site maintenance etc..

Clivespaña it depends on what they want, the rules are Spanish law and while I don't agree with all of them they help keep communities in good order. I live all the time on a community and can recommend it if you want company.
A nice detached villa is OK when you are young and get around and don't become ill but I know of several very very lonely people in their grand houses. Also, who wants to spend time working on a house when you can be out there enjoying life...been there done that!
Gretta take your time, maybe come and rent and like you say, talk to people. Good Luck

Nothing wrong with Communities... they give company, security, support, and if someone wants to put up a tower next door, the community won´t allow it..... and don´t forget you get the President you vote for... after all, the President is chosen by the community...

I second that. Plus in all of the bars we have found people are very sociable and always plenty going on.
