Thanks for the explanation Jan, obviously I wasn't quite sure how it works, I'll be sure to follow your advice.

Thanks for your reply, It’s been a long held dream of mine(25+years) to have a place in the sun, but we’ve always intended to keep a place in the UK too, and then if for whatever reason living out there permanently is not for us, then it’s always been my intention to keep the place as a holiday bolt hole for the kids and grandkids anyway.

Regards Tim

I too had a similar dream year ago Tim.
After many visits to Quesada, I found a dream second home and purchased over 8 years ago.
Luckily, it'd not been modified in any way by the initial owners.
Subsequently, now it's been subtly extended and upgraded over the years - futureproofed and added value to the property..

All I'll say to you Tim, is: look long and hard at the other houses around the roads and areas your looking to buy. IMHO - better to cough up a few €'s more, for a more desired property in the 1st instance & hopefully, end up with your dream second home from the outset.
Once you find a property to buy, re-visit the road etc, a couple of times in the day and at night, before comitting to buy and putting the big upfront deposit down too..
from my experience, Quesada is not generally noisy. Apart from the odd barky' / yapping dog!

Yes, to keeping property back in the U.K. - a bolthole or just somewhere to allow you to go back to and escape the Spanish hot months perhaps..

Best of luck with your quest and the search..

PM me TimT - if you want any independent un-biased advice on buying / locations etc..

Cheers, Paul.

Cheers for the advice and encouragement Paul, obviously we have a maximum budget, and we'll be sure to do our research before making any rash moves.

Hi Tim
After having an apartment in lovely Quesada for some years I have learned that it is not always summer and hot. You should buy a house/apartment that is insulated, have double glazing and preferable high cop air-cons., that give cheap heat and cold. If you are lucky you can also find a house/apartment with heated bathroom floor. I had to use nearly 20000 Euro to get this in my apartment, because I did not know that the winters can be cold.

We have a beautiful 3/4 bed villa for sale but think the €299.000 price tag is too much. however if you are interested pkease email me or pm.
There are lots of perks to our villa like large bedroom, two ensuits and a bathroom, big utility room,
lovely glass curtained patio room etc. oh and of course a pool with barbecue area awning, fridge and sink.
