Looking for property

Postby Gaynor2001 » Sat Apr 12, 2014 12:01 am

Hi

I'm currently looking to buy a property in Quesada, my budget is around €65, I'm coming back to Quesada on 21st April on my 2nd search visit this year. Ideal locations for me are Bravo Hills, Calle Sierra de Maria and surrounding areas. If anyone is thinking of putting their property on the market in those areas and within my budget or know of anyone who is, please let me know. I have friends with properties on the old airstrip and Calle Sierra de Maria.

Also I would like advice re mortgages. I've already had an apt with Barclays in Quesada but haven't completed my mortgage application with them as yet. I've heard that you only need 30% deposit with Santander and Bank of Sabadell but have heard bad things about Sabadell recently. Has anyone took a mortgage out recently and can give me some up to date advice??

Many thanks

Welcome to TalkQuesada Gaynor.

You should have a good choice of properties at some bargain prices.

If you drive or walk around the areas you like you will no doubt see Se vende (for sale) signs with phone numbers on and this is a good way to find property as the agents will only show you what they have on their books at the time.

If you haven't looked at the local agents for on-line properties there's some of them on this link: estate-agents-in-quesada-contact-details-addresses-and-maps-f98/

Have a good trip and hope you find something nice. If you need any help or information on the buying process please just ask on here - Lots of our members have done the same and will be only too pleased to help.

Don't know anything about Spanish mortgages but hopefully you will get some answers on that soon.

Good luck.

Jan

You won't get anything for €65!

Maybe for €65,000 you will. ;)

We wish eh!

Don't believe everything you hear about Sabadell. We got our mortgage with them, their Benijofar office, in 2012 and they basically gave us a decision on the spot and we wanted a 65% mortgage on a Euro 135,000 purchase. Yes they do have some charges but we have found them very efficient and helpful in branch and also their online system works very well. Like all banks you need to cultivate a relationship with a personal banker who knows you and will solve any problems, and we have done that with Sabadell easily enough.
In the current economic and financial climate I personally prefer to be with a bank with a clear strategy for the long term even if I may pay slightly higher charges in the short term. You get what you pay for and too many banks in Spain have either collapsed or will do soon.
For those in the UK we only need to look at the current turmoil with the Co-op bank and think back to Northern Rock and others to see the benefits of being with a well managed bank.

Gaynor there is a wee house for sale in Calle Jardin Marabu 4, its on for £40.000, one bedroom, bathroom, not bad size sitting room, decent wee garden at front, just below Bravo Hills, I saw it in Sunseekers Estate Agents, good luck with your search.
