Alicante Airport closed??

I have just received a message stating Alicante Airport is closed from tonight to ALL commercial flights, cargo, emergency not affected.
Anyone else heard this?

Yes, all flights have now been cancelled.
From midnight last night.

There was a few flights in and out today but last one was about 16.30

There are still limited flights, but you’re only allowed on them for emergency reasons. Go to their website for details of arrivals and departures

There doesn't appear to be anything on the airport web site to the effect that it's closed.

Still showing limited departures for tomorrow

11.25 to Manchester still showing as leaving,also Cardiff Glasgow and Newcastle

I think a few airlines are flying out to bring people back ie the ones who have been told to leave hotels,campsites ect

The flights to UK are with TUI and all internal flights to Mainland Europe are flying as normal

The Olive press has been printing a lot of incorrect information over the past few weeks.
