Can anyone tell me if Alicante airport is up and running as normal today please?

Went yesterday morning to drop friends off, all ok.

Just been announced that the airport will be closed from 13.00 today until 13.00 tomorrow due to the danger of flying debris from the fire.

Airport authority AENA advise that Alicante-Elche Airport will close today, Sunday, at 13:00 and remain closed until the same time tomorrow, Monday, for work in connection with weather and damage caused by the fire last week. Check with your airline over diversions or cancellations.

Yes unfortunately due to the red alert for storm Gloria the Airport will remain closed from 13h00 today to 13h00 Monday.

My wife is on a flight from Manchester, tonight, that has been diverted to Valencia. They are laying on coaches to Alicante.

All Ryan Air are offering is call back in 2 hours which a friend has been doing a few times now. Costing 13p a minute. She should have gone back on 11th but couldn't because baby had chickenpox then on Thursday but there was the fire then again today. Tearing her hair out now

I found out the airport was closed by looking on here so thank you for posting. I checked Alicante’s website which said my flight was cancelled so I tried phoning Ryanair but couldn’t get through, I eventually got an email to say my flight would be taking off from Valencia but it didn’t leave me enough time to get up there. A bit more notice would’ve been good! I was going back for a friend’s funeral which I’ll now miss!

I know its not the Airlines fault but cant beleive they not laying on transport to valencia... its a 2 hour drive how do they expect folk to get there, especially holidaymakers who have no one to take them there or extra funds for a taxi
