Any Airfields Worth Visiting?

Any Airfields Worth Visiting?

Postby Paulwilko10 » Sun Apr 18, 2021 7:24 pm

I live near a few nice airfields in the UK that are quite busy and good to have a beer watching the planes come and go.

Was wondering if there are any worth visiting in the area?

Cheers

Paul

Download Flightradar24 and then you can see what activity there is anywhere. Just now there is one plane from Barcelona to Alicante.

If going to Alicante and watch the aircraft from the landing areas [ as i used to if a plane was late arriving ] you will be challenged by the Guardia and told to move on ...!!!

Theres a big airfield further north at Teruel. It used to be a sort of Airplane scrapyard but now houses hundreds of aircraft that are sitting idle due to covid impact. There are some great aircraft from all over the world there, coming and going on a daily basis.

Thanks

Trouble with flightradar it rarely picks up small General Aviation Aircraft :-(

I use it all the time though for airliners :-)

There is an interesting aerodrome north-west of Alicante at Mutxamel (Muchamiel). It is used by the Alicante Aero Club and is just off the CV819
