My husband just got a text for his 2nd Pfizer on Tuesday.
If he had a choice he'd stick with the same one. My 2nd AZ was cancelled the other day which should have happened on 29th.

You can refuse the Pfizer vaccine if you wish but it will mean a longer wait as hardly any AZ vaccines are being delivered.
Whether you want to go the mix n match route is up to you. Loads of info on the net about this which range from not tested fully to giving a higher degree of protection depending on who did the research.
It would purely be up to you on how you want to go.

I would prefer to get Pfizer as the second dose as the research says it gives a much greater protection against the Delta variant. There is a very informative article by Prof Luke O'Neill, Prof of Biochemistry at Trinity College Dublin. As soon as it is possible to download it I will reference it for you. But absolutely mix your vaccines. It will be the norm shortly anyway.

I have had both of my vaccinations but if faced with the same situation as you are, I’d take the Pfizer. In fact, I’d take any of them to make sure that I was fully vaccinated. We are led to believe that we will all be getting a booster dose in
September (U.K.). I’m sure it could be any of the regulated vaccines but I will be glad to take whatever the medical people see fit to give me.

Heard today about someone in Orihuela Costa having an invitation for their first AZ on 29 June. That is the day I was supposed to have my second AZ in Torrevieja centro de Ocio, before it was cancelled.
As it turns out, this person was fully vaccinated in UK. I wish I could go in their place.
