Awful smell in bathroom

Hi there’s an awful smell in the bathroom at our apartment,got Unblockarod out they said the smell is coming from the shower it’s stagnant water,but couldn’t sort it.Could anyone please recommend anyone who can sort it,a plumber who knows what to do.Thank you

Have you just arrived at your apartment because this happens when the system isn’t flushed through regularly. In future fill and seal a plastic bag with water and place over the drain. It’s a Spanish thing!

Or just use a plunger and put that over the drain. That works for us.

Just poor a quarter bottle of bleach down the plug hole and around the plug hole on the surface, same with all other plug holes in the bathroom, leave it for 3 hours, it will be sorted. Yes it will smell of bleach, but once you run the taps again and water washes it away over the next couple of days, all smells will go. Cheap and simple, and effective.
